SHAME ON YOU!! Police Pepper Spray Peaceful UC Davis Students

Peaceful UC Davis Students gets peppered by Police.  But the brave, courageous peaceful student protestors held their ground and Police backed down.

Big Sur "El Sur Grande"

California is known for it's beaches. But what most people don't realize is that California offers many other places to hang out and relax. One of the best places to big visit in California is Big Sur.

Big Sur is located in the Central Coast of California. The name "Big Sur" came from Spanish phraase "el sur grande" which means "the big south".

One of things I like about Big Sur is the stunning natural views, making Big Sur a popular tourist destination especially during the summer time.

One of the highest coastal mountains in the contiguous 48 states is Big Sur's Cone Peak, which is approximately 3 miles from the ocean and stands almost a mile (5,155 feet) above sea level.

There are about 1,000 year round inhabitants in Big Sur.  Most of it's residents comprise of artist, writers and ranchers.   The homes are quite expensive around Big Sur, averaging about $2 million dollars.  One thing I noticed about Big Sur is that it doesn't have the typical big national hotel chains and other generic national chain stores, which is quite refreshing.

Next time you're planning a trip to Central California, cruise up on the Pacific Coast Highway and check out Big Sur.  I am sure you won't be disappointed.
